Star lights paints

Have had time this weekend to play with the new Imagination Starlights Paints. They are very addictive and great to use, mix well and very sparkly.

So I altered an old salad dressing bottle and a little box that had been sitting on my desk waiting for inspiration.

Peel offs

Peel offs do have their uses, and can often look very good. I was recently given some sheets to make samples for Keep on Crafting, these are really cut, little owls, or bits of them to build up into these cute little guys. They are on show in the shop and lots of customers thought they were die cuts.

Poppies 2015

Today I am showing my updated poppies. I first made these in 2013, with a black button in the centre, this year they are updated with seed beads in the centre. The felt is cut using Paperartsy dies for the poppy and Tattered Leaves die for the leaves. Last time I sold 95 and donated nearly £100 to the British Legion. So aiming higher this time!!!!

Parchment paper/Embossing folders

As I have one cracked uploading to my blog from my iPad I am on a roll.

Here are three cards made using parchment paper and embossing folders, I have used this technique in the past but this time I have used Clean Color watercolour brush pens. These dry very quickly and therefore do not affect the parchment paper.

I would have liked better pictures but as its late at night there is no natural light, must remember to do better!!!!

Craftworks Cards Potting Shed

Trying a new way of blogging. Here are a few of my samples used in the workshop I did recently for Keep on Crafting in Bury St Edmunds.

Just one more

Love this little guy, he is so cute, for this card, which is for my Thursday morning craft group, I have stamped in black archival ink and then zentangle doodled and added a few gems for colour.  I have previously coloured him with Promarkers, but cant find that picture.

More Samples

These are two samples for the WI adult learners taster day, the Suffolk West Federation are running at Sturmer in June, know it is ages off but need to have samples ready for the Federation Annual Meeting next week.  I have used Imagination Crafts stencils, Distressed Inks and Liquid Pearls.

Mini Basket take 2

So this is take 2 of the Mini Basket saga.  On the previous blog I gave details of the blue basket.  This time I made another one in pink, a little simpler, using 300 gsm cardstock, double to give the basket strength, so it was diecut and stuck together and then made up and the decorations added. I thought this would be an ideal Easter Gift if filled with mini eggs.

Mini basket

So I decided to make a start on this new topic on the paperartsy blog.

I remembered buying this die a while ago, with a project in mind but never did anything. I die cut in mount board, nice and thick, stuck it all together and painted with Fresco Mermaid, stamped with a JOFY mini and coloured with more Fresco paints. I also used the same stamp to make the flower embellishments. Added a few buttons and there you have it.

Purple Flower Box

As I spent yesterday morning showing ladies how to decorate a wooden tissue box, using Fresco paints, stamping and Grunge Paste, need to have a play with these products myself.  A love GP and Fresco paints for this project I used Lilac (which has nearly run out) and Amethyst. Painted with box with White paint to start off with then Lilac, stamped around the edges with Archival ink using a stamp from one of JOFYs sets. For the top of the box I mked Amethyst and GP and applied through one of Lin Browns stencils and painted the edges in Amethyst.  The Flowers on the top are a piece of patterned card painted in watered down Amethyst paint and the same stamp was used as on the sides.  A blob of glitter in the centre and that is done.  Now I have to go and walk DD's dogs who are staying for their holidays!!

A painty tag

I went to a Craft Fair locally last weekend and found some fab corrugated card, I actually need it for another project, but when I got home started to play with the card and Fresco paints, actually Lin Brown's new limited edition, really love the vibrant colours.  So I made this tag, just paints and die cutting and a final little bit of stamping.

Thanks for looking.

Fresco Paint

I have to admit I do love Fresco Paints. So here are two cards using mainly paint.

The first is using Lin Brown's stamps, stencil and new limited edition paints.  The colours are just lovely, really bright and vibrant.

The second one is again using Fresco paints, Wisteria, Lavender and Purple Rain for the back ground, plus stamping.  To make the topper I used a new stencil from JOFY and Purple Rain and stamped over with Blush and a script stamp. Cute little wire ribbon bow completes the picture.

Thanks for looking.

Houses, Houses and More Houses

I love these new stamps from Lin Brown for Paperartsy, they remind me of so many places I have visited. For this piece I stamped the background in black archival and then on separate card stamped out loads of houses, coloured with pencils and cut out, they layered up to creat a jumble of little houses.

This little house from the set just cried out to me the House in the Clouds at Thorpeness on the Suffolk coast not far from Aldburgh, have walked along the coast to it many times, the colours werent always like this but we do have days like this. Just to remind us that spring and summer are only months away. Cant wait.  Thanks for looking.

More new releases

These stamps are a bit of a change from my usual style of card making.  The stamps are designed by Liz Borer for Paperartsy.  For the first card above I stamped and embossed and coloured with watercolour pencils.

The second card again I stamped and embossed, this time I coloured with Perfect Pearls, I prefer this medium for the more detailed stamping, it was easier than the pencils I used in the first one.

Thank for your looking will be back later with more of my efforts.

Lin Brown's new stamps

Here are a few of the things I have done so far with Lin Brown's new stamps for Paperartsy.

The top and bottom ones are along the same lines, I stamped the flowers on th black card and embossed, made a background from Paperartsy Fresco Paints, by wetting watercolour card and applying more water and getting the paint to run.  The bottom card is actually paint I had left on my craft matt after I had made the background for the piece in the middle. On the bottom one I had cut some of the flower away as it was too small to cut round so I replaced it with cord from my stash of odd bits.

The middle one, well this little stamp just shouted at me "The House in the Clouds", well that is what I have always know it as.  It is a house that is literally in the clouds it is on the Suffolk Coast at Thorpeness near Aldburgh, I am sure some of you will know it. I am currently working on another one using the houses, but that will have to wait for another day now, the light is fading and I find it harder to craft as the light fades. Old age!!!!
